Biography:
Formed in 2005, Red Paper Dragon consist of: Bunney:
Vocals/Guitar Oli: Guitar/Vocals Adam: Guitar/Vocals
Neil: Bass Kev: Drums. They play a compelling
mix of swirling progessive soundscapes and intense
heaviness drawing comparisons to Aereogramme,
Explosions In The Sky and Isis. Winning studio
time through succes in a battle of the bands competition
at The Cavern, Exeter, meant they could record
their first EP, Songs Of Innocence in January
of 2006. The band managed to call a few favours
from friends, notably a wonderful t-shirt design
(since sold-out) from Ben Curzon (Muse and Planet
Mu).
Since
then, the band have been playing shows wherever
they can and recently embarked upon a sporadic
mini-tour with label mates The Pirate Ship Quintet
and new friends Blueneck. This took them to Southampton,
Bristol, Oxford, London (The Dublin Castle) and
Woking. In and around these dates, Red Paper Dragon
have played shows with heavyweights Capricorns
and Lair Of The Minotaur, emerging art-rockers
An Emergency and local math-rockologists San Luis
Obispo among others.
