Who are Sound Devastation?
Sound Devastation Records is run by Chris, in Nottingham.

Sound Devastation was originally formed as an e-zine of the same name, but became a record label when Chris became fed up of receiving poor releases from signed bands and excellent demos from bands going unrecognized. Some of you may remember SD#1 and SD#2 compilation CD-Rs that were sold in 2005. SD has come a long way since then and is now releasing a combination of professionally pressed CDs, Vinyl, and DIY releases.

It is an independant label with a DIY ethic, with emphasis on music, artwork, and what the bands want from their releases. it is also non-profit based, with all earnings going towards future releases. SD bands cover a wide range of genres but with a focus on epic, atmospheric and experimental music. Although the label and many bands are firmly based in the UK, more and more upcoming projects involve bands from all over the world.

Can I get SD releases in high street shops?
Yes, we are distributed by Shellshock in the UK, who deal with all indie record stores as well as HMV, Amazon.co.uk and Play.com. You should be able to purchase any of our releases from these outlets. If you cant find something, ask them to order it for you. We are currently working on international distribution deals. Backs - a division of Shellshock - endevour to get a few of our releases into Europe, so stores may request through them. Alternatively, just contact us directly!

I'm in a band, can I send you our demo?
Yes, you can. However, at the moment we would advise against it, as we are extremely busy. If you still decide to send us something, we'd rather listen to a demo CD than get links to Myspace or elsewhere. We have a very full roster and a busy release schedule, but we will listen to anything that is sent to us. The address is on the left. Please email us and let us know its coming, otherwise we will be even less likely to take note of it.

I run a label too, can I trade or buy wholesale?
Definitely. We're always interesting in trading, selling and buying from other labels, whether they're based in the UK or not. Email us and we can give you wholesale prices and possibly sort something out.

I'm a gig promoter, can I put on SD bands?
Of course. We don't deal with our bands' gig organization as of yet, so please contact them directly. If you cannot get hold of them, please email us and we will forward on your details.
